समाज सध्या संक्रमणाच्या काळातून जात आहे, या मध्ये अफाट वैज्ञानिक, सांस्कृतिक, मीडिया क्रांति घडून आल्यामुळे नाते संबंधांविषयी प्रचंड मोठ्या स्तरावर बदल घडून येत आहेत. सगळ्याच प्रकारचे सर्वच स्तरांवर चांगले वाईट बदल घडत आहेत, नव नवीन गुंते निर्माण होत आहेत आणि जुन्या पीढ़ी आणि नवीन पीढ़ी च्या विचारांमधील तफावत आणि त्यांचा स्वतः ला टिकवून ठेवण्याचा संघर्ष ही दिसून येत आहे. पालकांच्या मधे सर्व प्रकार आढळतायेत --- शिक्षित, अशिक्षित, कमी शिकलेले, प्रगल्भ, अप्रगल्भ, शिक्षित अप्रगल्भ, अशिक्षित प्रगल्भ । आणि सर्वच प्रकारची पालकं टीचर्सना हाताळावी लागतात।

If incompetent teachers are responsible for bringing down the standards of education then parents must realize their own conscious role in further deteriorating the state of affairs by pressurizing their children and the teachers alike to bring results of their choice. parents' uncalled for demands are the cornerstones of malpractices in education.
जर अपात्र आणि अक्षम शिक्षक शिक्षणाचा दर्जा खाली ओढण्यास जवाबदार आहेत तर पालकांनीही याची जाणीव ठेवावी की आपल्या मुलांवर आणि परिणामी शिक्षकांवर ही नको तेवढा दबाव आणून यास निकृष्ट करण्यास ते ही तितकेच जवाबदार आहेत।
Forced studies are resulting in parrots and not thinking beings. Parents must understand the true meaning of Education.
दबावाखाली घडवून आणलेल्या शिक्षणातून फ़क्त आणि फ़क्त रटन्तु पोपट तयार होतायेत, सखोलपणे विचार करणारी माणसे नव्हे। त्यामुळे पालकांनी शिक्षणाचा अर्थ समजून घेणे अत्यंत आवश्यक आहे. शिक्षण नेमके काय नाही आहे, प्रथम आपण ते पाहुयात ………
शिक्षण म्हणजे हे नव्हे.................

- स्वतः च्या मुलाकडे शिक्षकांने विशेष लक्ष पुरवावे म्हणून त्याला प्रलोभन देणे ही नव्हे

You all must understand the essence of education.Ever bothered to find out what is the meaning of Education? You must involve your own selves in an inner journey. what did you all gain by your own education?? Ever felt you lacked 'something'?
आपल्या सगळ्यांना शिक्षणाचा अर्थ समजून घ्यावा लागणार आहे। घर संसाराच्या रहाटगाडग्यातून, आपण कधी तरी प्रयत्न केलात का ते माहीत करून घेण्यासाठी ? प्रथम आपण एक आत्मचिंतन स्वतः करावे की मी तरी काय मिळवले एवढे शिक्षण घेऊन? उत्तर देता येईल का ? वर दिलेल्या बाबी सोडून वेगळे बोलता येईल का ते पहावे.
I wonder whether the last few generations of parents and even this one that is caught up in the endless pursuit of their livelihood and homemaking have really had had time to stop and reflect. And the less said the better about the materialistic and self-centered ambitious and so-called career oriented young generations of parents who neither have the time for themselves nor for spending quality time for understanding the needs of their children.
मला वाटते की अलीकडच्या काळातल्या पालकांना नोकरी आणि घराच्या प्रपंचामधून वेळ तरी मिळाला आणि मिळत असेल का ज़रा दोन क्षण थांबून श्वास घेण्यासाठी की त्यांनी या गहन अशा विषयावर विचार करावे। माग हल्लीच्या अत्यंत महत्वाकांक्षी आणि करियर केन्द्री तरुण दाम्पत्याविषयी तर जेवढे कमी बोलावे तितके खूपच ।

First of all...Education is LIFE LONG PROCESS THAT BEARS NO RECESSES NO INTERVALS IN IT. It occurs at all the stages of one's life and in all the moods, at all the places, in all the circumstances, in all conditions----whether sick or healthy, whether happy or sad, whether euphoric or depressed, whether angry or placid,Whether in a problem situation or after having solved it, whether sated or hungry-thirsty,whether alone or in a company whatever be it--- at all the times of the day, every single second, every single minute without any exceptions at all. Well I personally believe that in one's sleep also one is educated about oneself. Everyone dreams, every single dream, in that altered state of consciousness educates us.You may not want to acknowledge or be willing to receive the onslaught of it but it occurs nevertheless.
SO, It is a process... (of what?) Well by your own experiences you might realize that it occurs when you after an interaction with a person, place, thing, process, perspective, event, in a circumstance, changes you.... in these ways.........
सर्वप्रथम शिक्षण ही अखंडपणे आजन्म चालणारी एक प्रक्रिया आहे, यात कोणतीही सुट्टी नाही की मध्यांतर नाही. शिक्षण व्यक्तीच्या लिंग, वंश, भाषा, वय, आरोग्य, स्थान, व्यवसाय, जात, रंग, इत्यादि ची दखल ना घेता, आयुष्यातील प्रत्येक शारीरिक आणि मानसिक अवस्थेत आणि प्रत्येक मूड मधे मग तुम्ही आनंदी असा का दुखी असा किंवा रागावलेले असा किंवा अवसादात असा, एकटे असा का गर्दीत असा, अविरतपणे प्रत्येक दिवशी, प्रत्येक मिनिटाला, प्रत्येक सेकंडला, अपवादाशिवाय चालू असते। झोपेत सुद्धा माणूस स्वप्नांच्या मार्फ़त काही न काही तरी शिकतच असतो । आपण किती ही त्याची दखल घेण्यास नकार दिला किंवा कानाडोळा केला किंवा ते स्वीकारण्यास असहमति दर्शवली तरी ती सुरूच राहते।
तर मग ही एक प्रक्रिया आहे.… कशाची ???? तुम्हाला स्वतः ला जाणवले असेलच की आयुष्यातल्या प्रत्येक वेळेस कोण्त्याही व्यक्तीशी, कोणत्याही स्थानी, कोणत्याही वस्तुशी, कोणत्याही प्रक्रियेतून, घटनेतून, जाताना तेंव्हा झालेल्या आन्तरक्रियातून आपण काही तरी नविन ग्रहण केलेले आहे. हे 'नविन' बदल कोणते झाले आपल्यात ? तर खालील पैकी एक किंवा अनेक गोष्टी घडत असतात आणि त्या आपण आत्मसात करतो कळत नकळत ! सोप्या भाषेत सांगायचे म्हणजे या खालील गोष्टी घडतात …।

- या सर्वांची निष्पत्ति यात होते की व्यक्ति स्वतः च्या बुद्धि चा वापर करायचे शिकतो , आपली निर्णये आपली मते आपल्या निरीक्षणनानुसार घेऊ लागतो। नाहीतर सर्वसामन्यपणे ऎसे चित्र दिसते की इतरानी तैसे केले, त्यांनी ऎसे म्हंटले , ते ऎसे वागले, ते तैसे चालले , त्याप्रमाणे आपण ही तसेच वागतो बोलतो। इतरानी एखादी गोष्ट, एखादी घटना, एखादे मत चांगले ठरवले म्हणून आंधळेपणाने तेच ना म्हणता, त्याची शहानिशा करायची, स्वतः चांगले वाईट ठरवायचे , स्वतःची निर्णये स्वतः घ्यायची सवय त्याला लागते.
- उत्तम लोकशाहीचा आधारच व्यक्तिविचार स्वातंत्र्य आहे. आंधळे पणाने कळपबुद्धि राहाणे नव्हे.

हो हो हो पण हां बदल कैसा होतो आणि किती सीमेपर्यंत ?
Now onto the next aspect of 'Change'. It brings on changes that may be temporary, or relatively permanent. No change that it brings is Permanently impressed. Change it does whether it is to some extent, or little, or full extent, to a smaller degree whatever, but change it does.
Any other thing that changes in 'Change'????
Yesss... the change itself undergoes various kinds of changes. the change that is brought on may be a total reversal, a partial or complete modification, or a deletion, or an addition, or a new acquisition etc etc. Interesting. no parent really ponders on that or stops to reflect on that wrt to themselves or their children.
ता एक अजून आवश्यक मुद्दा . आपण पाहिलेच की शिक्षणातून बदल घडत असतात। हे बदल कैसे असतात मग ? बालकामध्ये होणारे हे बदल, कधीही पूर्णपणे स्थायी स्वरूपाचे नसतात कारण तैसे जर झाले तर एकदा आलेला बदल हां कधीही जाणारच नाही. आणि त्यामुळे व्यक्तीमध्ये वैचारिक कठोरता येत जाईल म्हणून हळू हळू घडणारे हे बदल सापेक्षवादाच्या सिद्धांतानुसार व्यक्तिनिहाय तात्पुरत्या प्रमाणात स्थायी असतात। कोणाच्या बाबतीत ते दीर्घकाल स्थिरावतात आणि कोणाच्या बाबतीत ते फार काल टिकत नाहीत.
त्यामुळे कोणत्याही दोन बालकांची तुलना करणे अयोग्यच आहे। प्रत्येक बालक ईश्वराची अद्वितीय अशी निर्मिति आहे आणि प्रत्येक बालक प्रतिभांचा एक विशिष्ट संच घेऊन उत्पन्न झालेला आहे। तेंव्हा पालकांहो शिक्षण म्हणजे काय हे आता समजले असेलच, तुमच्या मुलाने ९० टक्क्यांच्या वर मार्क्स मिळवले म्हणजे त्याचे शिक्षण खूप चांगले झाले ऎसे समजण्याची चूक करू नका. त्यांच्यात वैचारिक स्तरावर आणि प्रगल्भते विषयी किती परिवर्तन झालेत आणि आधीच्या आणि आताच्या तुमच्या
बालकाच्या वर्तनात् कोणता अंतर आलाय त्यावरून त्याचे शिक्षण कैसे झाले हे ठरवा.
खाली शिक्षण विषयक काही परिभाषा देत आहे, त्या वाचल्यावर त्याचे आकलन अधिक चांगले होईल।

- जेंव्हा बदल हा शब्द वापरला जातो तेंव्हा त्यामधे जतन , संवर्धन, गाळणे , रूपांतरण, नवीन बाबीचा समावेश होणे या विविध प्रक्रियांचे पैकी एखादी गोष्ट घडणे अपेक्षित आहे …
- कुणाच्या बाबतीत ते १०० टक्के घडतात तर कुणाच्या बाबतीत ते क्षणिक अथवा काही अंशी, तर अजून काहींच्या बाबतीत ते पुष्कळ अंशी घडत असतात।
- एकाच वर्गात बसलेल्या अनेक विद्यार्थ्यात् वेगवेगळ्या प्रमाणात हे बदल घडत असतात। विशेष म्हणजे हे बदल सातत्याने घडत असतात।
- याशिवाय या बदलांची गति ही कमी जास्त असू शकते। सर्वच बदल एकाच गतीने आणि एकाच वेळेस होतील ऎसे नसते।
- बदल हे वैचारिक, नैतिक, सांस्कृतिक, सामाजिक, आद्यात्मिक, शैक्षणिक, इत्यादि प्रकारचे असतात। प्रत्येक बालकामध्ये यांच्यात बदल घडून येण्याची प्रक्रिया वेग वेगळी असते। कुणाच्यात आध्यात्मिक बदल आधी घडतात , मग शैक्षणिक, मग सांस्कृतिक, आणि दुसऱ्या बालकांमध्ये याविषयी वेग वेगळे पैटर्न असू शकते।
- आधी मोठ्यांशी कसाही बोलत होता आता व्यवस्थित बोलतो. वागतो/वागतेय। आधी वर्तणुकीत किती बेशिस्त होती आता किती शिस्तबद्ध वागण्ाे झालेय। आधी घरकामात आणि बाहेरच्या कामात मदत करीत नव्हता, आता करतो, आधी लहान भावंडाना हिडिस फिडिस करायचा आता त्यांची काळजी घेतो . आधी अभ्यासात नियमितता नव्हती, आता नियमितपणे अभ्यास करतो. वर्गातल्या आणि कॉलोनीतल्या महिलांकडे आता आदपशीरपणे पहातो. कॉलोनीमधे सगळ्यांची मदत करतो।
- आधी नेहमी आपली गरज आणि आपला स्वार्थ पाहायची आता लहान भावंडांच्या गरजांना प्राधान्य देते. आधी आपली काम सुद्धा स्वतः करीत नव्हती, आता आपापली काम स्वतः करते। स्वच्छता, टापटीप ठेवतेय। आधी खूप खोटे बोलायची , आता खरे बोलते, सगळे सांगते।

PARENTS DO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHAT LEARNING IS REALLY ALL ABOUT ?
Being a teacher educator, in the process of training the young graduates to become teachers I noticed they were often cramming the content, and doing things very methodically sometimes, and sometimes delivering the content very efficiently but appropriate methods of learning were not being applied.
In the entire process the young school students were the eventual sufferers as they were either just mute spectators or participated fully without assimilating the elements of the process.
There are two different issues involved here. I'm going to restrict myself to specific important points only. There's a lot of material available on the web, but from the teacher's point of view certain primary issues need attention.
1. Definition: Learning refers to the act, to the process, where as a result of experience, or instruction, or observation,or training, occurs a relatively permanent change in the behaviour of the learner leading to a better adjustment with his environment.
This view has been supported by many educationists and researchers esp. those working in the areas of Behaviourism, Cognitivism, Gestaltians and the Humanists and more recently those subscribing to the Information Process views.
Therefore learners, remember that any learning ought to be apparent either overtly or covertly, either physically or intellectually. It manifests itself in one's attitudes, in one's speech, in one's aptitude, in one's knowledge, in one's skills, in one's values, in one's viewpoints etc,
Secondly, the act or the process may involve an acquisition of a totally new behaviour, or a modification in it, or a deletion, or an addition into it, thereby an improvement or reinforcement to the behaviour already existing.
Third, the definition implies that the learner has to be active in the process of learning. he has to bring about whatever changes are being talked about. no one may impose the changes upon him.
Fourth, these days the Constructionist theorists say that each learner during the process of learning constructs learning according to his perceptions, experiences and viewpoints etc. therefore each one learns the same thing differently.
2. Learning is a process . To quote a very popular saying.... Do not give a man fish but teach him to fish....fits very well here.
This view has been supported by scholars and psychologists the world over.Learning is not compulsory; it is contextual. It does not happen all at once, but builds upon and is shaped by what we already know. To that end, learning may be viewed as a process, rather than a collection of factual and procedural knowledge. Learning should help a person solve problems and issues of similar nature or slightly different ones, which implies that one should be aware of the steps in solving it.viz..
- Identification of the specific nature of the issue or problem
- delineating and defining the nature of the problem & setting the goal
- identifying the obstacles or bottlenecks in reaching the goal
- recollecting past experiences of similar nature
- conjuring up of possible solutions to solve the problem
- evaluating the relevance and applicability of each one of those solutions
- by making comparisons
- by weighing the pros and cons of the solutions individually
- selecting and choosing the most effective of the solutions
- applying and confirming the validity of the solution chosen
- retreating to other solutions by turn if the first one doesn't apply very well.
- Finally attaining the goal
It is a circular process that begins with a goal and ends in the attainment of the goal, not forgetting the significant role played by Motivations within and outside of the individual learner. there are many other details in it. 3. Each individual is a different kind of learner possessing a different kind of intelligence and a different kind of learning style. there are nine different kinds of Intelligences (See Howard Gardner's theory of Multiple Intelligences) and at least six different kinds of learning styles---visual, tactile, auditory, global, holistic & intuitive.
The parents must now start thinking.....
- have they properly diagnosed the intellectual strengths and weaknesses in your child?
- whether do the teachers really incorporate these details into our teaching agenda?
- Or at least do the teachers consider childrens' needs when planning a lesson script?
- Are we really giving justice to the uniqueness of your child?
And let us now watch ourselves from a different angle...
Ever thought how your children are losing those precious hours of play to attending piano classes and tuition classes and dance classes forced on them after the school hours get over by you all . They are losing the natural process of learning.There are so many activities both mental and physical and psycho-social and emotional, that go on developing the skills quite unintentionally and in a rather queer way making the child proficient! They have to explain things, give examples and non-examples, tell the right from wrong, maybe demonstrate, supplement their experiences so on and so forth.
